A Mission of Peace
We are the Shalom Catholic Community, a private international
association of the faithful with juridical status, recognized by the Holy See on February 22, 2007.
Present in dozens of countries, we are made up of men and women
who embrace a communal and missionary life, committed to bringing the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to all peoples, especially those who are far from Christ and the Church.
Our missionary presence is marked by dedicated service to the poorest and by the desire to restore human dignity through social projects that respond to situations of vulnerability around the world.
Currently, we are focusing a strong effort on supporting children in Africa through the initiative Mission Madagascar: Building Hope. We work to build and sustain Spaces of Peace that offer refuge, education, and dignified conditions for child development, promoting initiatives that give a new beginning to those who dream big.
Hopedon is the International Projects and Partnerships Platform of the International Projects Office of the Shalom Catholic Community. Our mission is to connect people, companies, foundations, and institutions with transformative missionary, social, and humanitarian projects, creating meaningful opportunities to participate in the mission of the Church through generosity, transparency, and shared commitment.

Our Mission
To bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all peoples, especially those who are far from God and the Church, through a communal and missionary life expressed in service to the poorest and in the promotion of social initiatives that restore human dignity throughout the world.
To be an international community dedicated to evangelization and social transformation, recognized for the effectiveness of its charitable works and its commitment to promoting human dignity, and capable of offering a new beginning and a future of hope to children in Africa and to vulnerable communities in all the nations where we are present.
The Shalom Catholic Community was founded in Brazil in 1982. Over more than 40 years of evangelization, the primary beneficiaries of the Community’s missionary work have been the poor and young people. Present on the African continent, the Shalom Community proclaims peace through activities that promote integral human development.
To welcome the gift of peace into our lives and share it with the world, we must become instruments of God’s consolation and compassion toward those who suffer from a lack of spiritual and material sustenance. For this reason, Shalom missionaries are present in various African nations, carrying out educational, formative, and vocational initiatives.
